What works in general in society may
not work for a person with Autism Spectrum Disorder, (ASD). Three common symptoms of having autism are: finding it hard to understand what others are thinking
or feeling, getting very anxious about social situations, and finding it hard to
make friends or preferring to be on your own. Every person with autism is
unique. Symptoms can appear
from individuals
who are well-functioning to individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Josef’ Icmen will tell us about research in autism and his own experiences.

is active in different associations and organizations. Some of his work
includes advocating for people with autism, as an example he has given lectures
to for instance Karolinska University Hospital and Region Stockholm. His field
with the advocacy work is in the labor market and healthcare.
